Exuberance
2021 | 2:22
Level: Grade: 5
Written for The Tarpon Springs Wind Symphony
Scoring: 2 Flutes, 2 Oboes, 2 Bassoons, 3 Bb Clarinets, Bass Clarinet, 2 Alto Saxophones, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, 3 Trumpets (Bb), 4 Horns in F, 3 Tenor Trombones, Bass Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Timpani, Percussion (5 Players) Glockenspiel, Marimba, Concert Bass Drum, Crash Cymbal, Suspended Cymbal, Splash Cymbal, Triangle, Concert Toms
Program Note: “Exuberance” first started out as the final movement of a piece I wrote in 2018 called “Concerto for Orchestra.” My goal was to create something that was fast, exciting, and over-the-top wild. When I was asked to write a piece for the Tarpon Springs Wind Symphony in 2021, I began transcribing it to a wind ensemble scoring, leading us to the piece we have today. “Exuberance” is an in-your-face concert closer that will surely have the audience and musicians rocking along the whole ride!
